Years ago back in 2009/2010, I started college for Multimedia Design & Development.
Why is this important? It’s actually the start of how I started doing YouTube videos, and what led me to where I am today in the YouTube & Content Creating. I wanted to learn PhotoShop, but it was overwhelming to me. I am not the type of person who can self-teach myself, so college was a good bet even if I could never do the advanced techniques at least I would have a start.
In one of my classes, the homework assignment was to create a YouTube channel and other various social media such as Twitter or a Facebook page. The purpose was to learn how we could use these, to benefit ourselves and to promote ourselves in the graphic and video editing world. This is why and how my YouTube channel got created, now for the rest of the story.
I originally started with just uploading the videos I had done for school assignments. This was a way I could get feedback on my videos so I could learn how to do things better in the future. I have always been about constructive criticism. I was also raiding in World of Warcraft and back then raid leaders were about watching videos. I never could learn by watching videos, my ADHD and there would be too much going on in the video, an example will be posted below of a boss fight video so you can see what I mean
I created a plan, I wanted to start making youtube videos for games. I did research and started working on figuring out how. I have since ventured into other personal subjects, like discussing the abuse I endured from my first husband or the loss of my children. I try to be versatile, while holding true to my primary goals and purpose, to make videos that those with ADHD or a learning disability can understand. I do get that those affect everyone differently, but knowing that I am helping someone even if one person makes me feel better.
My first video was uploaded to YouTube on July 7, 2010. I might not be as huge as most of those who have been around for awhile, but I am glad at where I am. I currently have around 2200 subscribers on YouTube, which I am not worried about my subscriber count. I care more that I am having fun and that my videos are helping someone out there even if it isn’t helping everyone. I will link my first ever YouTube video uploaded so you can see it.
I am aware the quality is horrible but go easy. That video is also the first video I ever edited/made so you can’t expect the quality to be there! My goals for the future of youTube? I would like to continue entertaining and helping others in the future. Thank you guys for reading my story! I really appreciate it.
