The road to Midnight is officially underway in World of Warcraft, and this week brings a packed slate of updates, events, and limited-time rewards. From the upcoming Midnight Pre-Expansion Content Update to the final days of Legion Remix and a new Twitch Drop housing item, there’s plenty for players to prepare for as Azeroth heads into its next chapter.
Midnight Pre-Expansion Content Update Launches January 20
The first shadows of the Void arrive on January 20, when the Midnight Pre-Expansion Content Update goes live. This update introduces a wide range of system changes, new gameplay options, and early access to features that will shape the expansion ahead.

Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition Pre-Patch Is Live
The journey back through the Dark Portal continues as the Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition prepares to launch globally on February 5 at 3:00 pm PST, included with an active WoW Subscription or Game Time.
This anniversary edition expands progression and features:
- Level cap increased to 70
- Faster leveling cadence
- Three iconic raids
- Two playable races
- Guild Bank
- Numerous quality-of-life improvements
Players can also review details on character transfers and feature availability ahead of launch to plan their return to Outland.
Final Weekend of Legion Remix Has Arrived
Time is running out in Legion Remix. From Friday, January 16 at 8:00 am PST until the event concludes, players can earn the Feat of Strength: “Cloudy With a Chance of Infernals.”
Before the timeline collapses on January 19, be sure to:
- Spend all earned Bronze on collectibles you want to keep
- Finish Remix-specific goals and achievements
Once characters return to the main timeline:
- Remix-specific items, quests, and gear will be-leveled
- Each character will receive 2,000 gold
- A full set of item level 655 (102 post-squish) armor and weapons
- All gold earned during Remix will be retained
While a vendor will remain for Legion Remix housing décor later, purchasing during the event offers the best value.
Twitch Drop: Cuddly Green Grrgle Housing Decor
A new Twitch Drop arrives alongside the Midnight update. Watch 4 hours of eligible World of Warcraft streams on Twitch to earn the Cuddly Green Grrgle housing décor item.
Drop Window
- Start: January 20 at 10:00 am PST
- End: February 17 at 10:00 am PST
After Midnight launches on March 2, players who’ve earned the drop can purchase additional copies from:
- Dennia Silvertongue (Silvermoon City)
- Tuuran (Stormwind)
- Gabbi (Orgrimmar, near the Trading Post)
Remember to link your Twitch and Battle.net accounts before watching, and note that rewards can take up to 24 hours to appear in-game.
New 6-Month Subscription Rewards
Players who subscribe for 6 or 12 months can kick off the year with fiery new cosmetics:
- Scorching Valor Skyriding Mount
- Smoldering Courage Pet (usable in WoW Classic progression)
Existing subscribers with an active recurring plan will receive these items automatically.

- Must be redeemed by July 31, 2026
